Biblical Counseling
The FCU Biblical Counseling Program focuses on sound biblical theology and the sufficiency of scripture, rather than secular principles of psychology. The curriculum is based on building a strong conviction of faith in the life of the counselor and to address the critical issues in today’s culture through the wisdom of God’s Word. Every class will provide inspiration and affirmation as to how God created us and His purpose for each of us. This program is specifically designed for meeting the needs of the local church under the guidance of the pastoral leadership.
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort which we ourselves are comforted by God."
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Larry Crabb from his book, THE BASIC PRINCIPLES OF BIBLICAL COUNSELING speaks to the need of counseling through the local church. “The local church should and can successfully assume responsibility within its ranks for restoring troubled people to full, productive, creative lives. If we are to hope for success in such immense and seriously neglected responsibility, pastors need to return to the biblical model not of ministering to their people but of equipping their people to minister to each other by using their spiritual gifts. Congregations need to regain that wonderful sense of 'koinonia' fellowship and practice true community."
